Deetria Egeli, RMT
Deetria has been practicing massage therapy since graduating from West
Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1997. She employs and has taken continuing
education courses in soft tissue release, muscle energy technique, regional
orthopedics, and myofascial release. Deetria completed her Bachelor of
Health Sciences at Thompson Rivers University in 2011 and has taken various
exercise science courses at UBC since attending massage college. In addition to
massage therapy Deetria has worked administrating and performing measurements related
to bone health and physical activity research for the past 8 years at UBC.
Deetria has also been a fitness and weight training instructor, given talks to
the Running Room and the Parkinson's Society, as well as volunteered at the
Terry Fox Run and MTABC Wellness Show booth. Having competed in judo on a
national level in the past and trained in various martial arts since including
boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts Deetria also enjoys
working with athletes. As a therpist she enjoys and has experience working with
a wide range of patients and patient needs both simple and complex, acute and
chronic, elite athlete to palliative care and understands the importance of
incoporating active therapy both within treatment and as a part of someones
self care plan.
